Since September 8, 1959, the Beethoven Hall has been the concert and congress hall of the federal city of Bonn. Its resident is the famous orchestra called after it, the Beethoven Orchestra. Many international orchestras and artists give guest performances here. Special events are the annual Beethoven Festival, the big congresses and party conferences. The biggest one of the Beethoven Hall’s four halls offers sufficient space for 2.000 people.
Today’s Beethoven Hall is the third one in Bonn bearing this name. The first one came into being as a wooden construction in 1845 on behalf of Franz Liszt for the first Beethoven Festival, however, it had to be pulled down due to the risk of fire. The second hall, another wooden construction which was erected in 1870 on the occasion of the second Beethoven Festival for the 100th birthday of the composer, entirely burnt down during the biggest bomb-attack the city underwent on October 18, 1944.
Today’s Beethoven Hall has the big hall, which is a concert and congress hall of international format. Great events can be celebrated here in an adequate ambience.
The podium with its 280 m² offers enough space for generous productions. If requested, the gallery can be separated from the hall through adjustable ceiling elements.
The southern wing, which was erected in 1997, offers four light and technically well-equipped conference rooms, as well as a studio with up to 400 seats. The generous foyer can be used as exhibition grounds with registration counter. The Beethoven Hall is located right at the Rhine.
