Discover Bonn and the region by bike

The city of Bonn and the whole region present themselves in a very biker-friendly way, as they offer charming and well-marked cycle tracks all over. There are cycle rallyes for children, nature experiences and cultural pleasures on all tracks.

With its 30 kilometres of well-improved cycle tracks on both sides of the Rhine, Bonn is a very biker-friendly city. The whole city is well-marked for bikers and points to the tracks towards museums and sights. Moreover, the city published a cycle-track guide with touristical circular tours, which can be obtained free of charge at the tourist information in Bonn. There are also folders for the individual tracks, such as the cycle track through the federal quarter and Bad Godesberg, or the cycle rallyes for children through the experiential city.

The whole region between Rhine, Sieg and Ahr invites for a discovery by bike. Bonn is the turnstile of different touristical tracks in this connection. The “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” (experiential track along the Rhine) with its 160 kilometres, for example, leads along the banks of the big river from Königswinter to Bonn, to Cologne and Düsseldorf up to Duisburg. The “Siegtal Route” (track through the Sieg valley) with its 140 kilometres leads you from the source of the idyllic river in the Siegerland to its mouth into the Rhine near Bonn. The “Wasserburgen Route” (track to water-surrounded castles) leads you from Bonn to the most beautiful noble residences in the Cologne Embayment and the Voreifel. This cycle track with its 350 kilometres is divided into stages, which are all less than 50 kilometres long, apart from the Eifel stage, which is a little longer than that. All stages always begin and end in a village with a railway station. The cycle-track guides on these three charming cycle tracks can be obtained in each book store (the guides “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” and “Wasserburgen-Route” are offered for a price of 12.68 Euro, whereas “Radwandern und Wandern im Siegtal” is offered for a price of 6.54 Euro).
