„Once upon a year...“ Bonn’s Christmas fair conjures up Christmassy atmosphere in the Beethoven City of Bonn. Atmospherically illuminated facades create solemn scenery for booths and stands in Germany’s biggest linked pedestrian precinct. Bonn’s Christmas fair is specialised on art crafts from all over the world. In 2010, it was elected to be among Germany’s Top Ten of the most beautiful Christmas fairs.
Only a few kilometres away from Bonn, at the “Mittelalterlicher Markt” (“Medieval fair”) in Siegburg, a completely different Christmas fair is offered to the visitor. In an authentic medieval gathering of booths, jugglers, gleemen and artisans demonstrate their skills.
Who ever prefers the romantic ambiance should definitely visit the fair in Ahrweiler. In the red-wine metropolis, which is completely surrounded by a medieval city wall, the Christmas fair invites to stay for a while.
