Federal quarter and Bad Godesberg

The circular route of about 20 km begins and ends at the “Museum Koenig”, where the opening session of the parliamentary council for the elaboration of the Basic Constitutional Law of the Federal Republic of Germany took place in 1948, also known as the hour of birth of the Federal Republic of Gemany.
In today’s Federal quarter between university and Rheinauenpark, one will find numerous Federal authorities, institutions for education and development transferred to Bonn, as well as the headquarters of the Post AG, the Postbank and the Telekom.
This tour leads you along the most important buildings and sights to the centre of Bad Godesberg.

Rheindorfer Route (Tour of Rheindorf)

On its total length of 13 kilometers, the Tour of Rheindorf combines everything that makes a bike tour interesting: nature, cultural-historical sights and many possibilities for recreation. You can visit, for example, the Roman Doppelkirche (double church) St. Klemens in Schwarzrheindorf, the Jewish cemetery and the Beethoven hall on the other side of the Rhine. The circle tour is fully equipped with the typical direction signs for bikers. In addition, it is nearly identical with the “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” (experimental path Rhine track), so that you will find several interesting information boards at the wayside.

Museums-tour

The cycle route of about 12 kilometres starts and ends at the Hofgarten. It can be used in both directions or just in parts. The so-called „Museumsmeile“ with the museums Museum Koenig, Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and Deutsches Museum Bonn, as well as the Arithmeum and the August-Macke-Haus are part of the route.

Cycling in the region

A castle tour around Bonn

Eight eventful cycle tours with a length of 20 to 37 kilometres, which pass numerous water-surrounded castles and lead through beautiful nature reserves and countrymen’s land, form the new castle tour around Bonn. The change between the first-class cultural offer in Bonn and Brühl and the rural idyll promises experiential, but also recovering days between Rhine and Eifel.

"Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene"

The “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” is a cycle tour of 2 x 160 km along the Rhine between Bonn and Duisburg. It runs along both sides of the river and leads you through a total of 17 cities and communities. It is especially made for bikers with its even and low-traffic tracks. You can get to know Germany’s biggest river from a totally different perspective.
Subject-related signs inform you about things worth knowing about architectural sights and landscape specialties. Signs with route maps give you valuable information on the individual locations and the tour itself. Numerous bridges and ferries allow for an individual route plan from a day tour to a biking tour of several days.

The Sieg cycle tour

The Sieg as a permanent companion, from the source up to its mouth into the Rhine near Bonn. These are 154 kilometres through a virgin river landscape between the Naturpark Rothaargebirge, the Bergisches Land and the Westerwald. Isolated meadowland changes with wooded slopes. Biking experiences its initial meaning here.

The Ahr cycle tour

This is a very family-friendly tour along the Ahr – 80 km, most of the time on cycle tracks, field paths and country roads, from the Rhine to Blankenheim / Eifel. The tour leads you through vineyards, interesting and charming landscapes of cultural interest across the Northern Eifel.
