The Agia Trias Church (“zur heiligen Dreifaltigkeit“) in Bonn is run by arch bishop Augoustinos, metropolitan of Germany and “Exarch” of central Europe. The church itself as well as the other buildings belonging to it were built by the German architect Klaus Hönig, who lived in Crete two years before, where he gained the necessary skills for the construction of a Greek Orthodox Church. At Whitsun in 1978, it was consecrated by the former metropolitan Irinäos.
The sacral furnishing was produced in Greece by artists and craftsmen. The painting of the church was made by the painter Christophanis Voutsinas according to motives from the Old and the New Testament as well as other texts of the liturgical tradition of the Orthodox Church. The church offers space for about 400 believers during service.
