Foreign tourists still ask for this woman today when they come to Bad Godesberg. Her name was “Aennchen Schumacher”, who developed to the most-praised innkeaper’s wife in Europe. She died already in 1935. Aennchen’s “Äuglein heller Schein” (light-shining eyes) already fascinated the students around the turn of the century. Today, it is not just her black eyes, but her cooking skills, which are absolutely recommendable.
