Foreign tourists still ask for this woman today when they come to Bad Godesberg. Her name was “Aennchen Schumacher”, who developed to the most-praised innkeaper’s wife in Europe. She died already in 1935. Aennchen’s “Äuglein heller Schein” (light-shining eyes) already fascinated the students around the turn of the century. Today, it is not just her black eyes, but her cooking skills, which are absolutely recommendable.

This is the place where already Beethoven danced with Barbe Koch, his early love, and where you can do two things: drinking “Kölsch” (the famous beer from the Rhineland) and eating solid meals. The offer ranges from “Halve Hahn” to “Rheinischer Sauerbraten”.
