> Die Stadt Bad Honnef (The city of Bad Honnef)

Nice on the Rhine… this was the name Alexander von Humboldt gave to the town of Bad Honnef due to its mild climate. There was another great man in Germany’s history who loved this town and spent a large part of his life in the picturesque district of Rhöndorf: the Federal Republic`s first Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer.

Bad Honnef’s picturesque town centre is an attractive location for strolling and shopping, or simply for enjoying a drink in one of the many restaurants, cafés and beer gardens. Winegrowers in Rhöndorf invite you to sample their wines. ‘Conquer’ the Drachenfels by making your way through vineyards and woods on paths affording breathtaking views from its unexplored side.

The charm of this endearing town lies in its elegant art nouveau villas and parks dating from times when kings used to take their cures in Bad Honnef, its beautiful old timber-framed houses, its Mediterranean atmosphere and in the legendary Siebengebirge mountain range on one side and “Father” Rhine on the other.
