Tourismus & Congress GmbH Region Bonn / Rhein-Sieg / Ahrweiler (T&C) was founded on 20th December 1996 within the scope of the compensatory measures adopted for the Bonn region in the wake of the election of Berlin as the new capital.
“The nature of the company is to strengthen the Bonn / Rhein-Sieg/ Ahrweiler tourism region, to develop and implement a comprehensive tourism and event recruiting policy, as well as a national and international ticketing“ (original excerpt from the Federal Law Gazette on 27th May 1997)
The Objectives
Consolidation of the BONNTICKET service company and expansion of the supra-regional sales structures
Set up and expansion of a comprehensive service provider for congresses and conferences based on aspects of sustainability
Set up of a regional, touristic and interactive hotel reservation system
Set up and expansion of sales structures for the optimisation of the sales of touristic and cultural offers in the region
Concentration of the offers and resources in the Bonn / Rhein-Sieg / Ahrweiler region
The Tasks
BONNTICKET Ticketing (system provider for operators, ticketing agency, responsibility for brands such as Aachen Ticket, Koblenz Ticket and provision of services for NRW-Ticket GmbH)
Congress service (acquisition, central coordination office, hotel accommodation service, registration, framework programmes, etc.)
Cooperation with domestic and foreign tour operators
Room referral service and the arrangement of package deals through the electronic booking system
Marketing (presentation at travel and tourism fairs, as well as trade fair congresses, etc.)
Public relations work at both national and international levels
Project management (“Rhine in Flames“, Rhine Culture, Sustainable Bonn, Bonn Medical Partners, Bonn Conference Partners, Event Calendar)
Product development (Bonn Regio WelcomeCard, MP3 City Guide)
The Partners
The partners in Tourismus & Congress GmbH Region Bonn / Rhein-Sieg / Ahrweiler are assembled from representatives of the regional administrative bodies, as well as from the private sector:
The Federal City of Bonn (37.5 %)
The Bonn / Rhein-Sieg / Ahrweiler Tourism Development Association (29 %), Members of the various municipalities in the Rhein-Sieg District, hotel owners, restaurant owners, companies and associations
The Rhein-Sieg District (18.5 %)
Ahr Rhein Eifel Tourismus & Service GmbH (5 %)
The Bonn / Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (5 %)
The Bonn / Rhein-Sieg District Hotel and Restaurant Guild (5 %)
T&C provides about 3.15 million euros (80 %) of its annual overall budget of 4 million euros itself.
The Employees
Within the course of its existence, the number of employees at T&C has grown from seven at the start to a total of 40 employees. The employees are distributed across the various departments, such as BONNTICKET, Sales (Congress / Tourism), Marketing, Public Relations and general administration.
Special attention is given to our internal junior staff, the six apprentices. T&C also provides internships in all the departments.
The strategy opted for by T&C Managing Director, Tilmann Flaig, is aligned towards an orientation to sales, aimed at the optimal positioning of the diversified offers of Bonn and the region on the market.
