Bonn by bike

Bonn is a very biker-friendly city. Cycle tracks excellently marked with nameplates guide their visitors to museums and sights. There are also a lot of brochures about subject-related tracks through the Federal City. Moreover, touristic circular routes, such as the “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” or the “Wasserburgen-Route” lead you from Bonn to the charming environs. 
In 1995, the Federal City of Bonn was included into the working society of the biker-friendly cities and communities in NRW (North Rhine Westfalia). This membership is a construction part of a concept supposed to lead Bonn to a better environmental consciousness in its traffic policy. In 1997, an amendment of the Road Traffic Regulations was determined. Next to the opening of one-way streets for the cycle traffic, new cycle tracks have been established to improve Bonn’s cycle-traffic net.
