Discovering Bonn and its region by bike

Siebengebirge with dragon rack
Siebengebirge with dragon rack

For more than 2000 years, the Rhine has always played a particular role in the history of the city of Bonn. On its left bank stony witnesses of this eventful history line up: Roman origins, medieval churches, electoral castles and representative buildings from the capital era. But also the city’s recent development to become a modern and international significant business location is interesting to see. Experience one of North-Rhine-Westphalia’s most bicycle-friendly cities on the occasion of a bike tour lasting 2 ½ hours bearing the motto “Bonn - yesterday, today and tomorrow”. A professional guide will lead you along the Rhine and will supplement the bike tour with interesting stops and visits.

Route/Programme: The route leads you from Bonn’s city centre via the Rhine promenade, the federal quarter, the Museumsmeile to the leisure park Rheinaue. After continuing the trip along the Rhine you will make a small round trip through the former embassy quarter and residential quarter of Rüngsdorf, which enjoys a Renaissance as a dwelling place and office location for wealthy businessmen and independent gentlemen. The tour finishes at the Rhine ferry Bad Godesberg-Niederdollendorf.

Meeting point: Münsterplatz (in front of the main entry of the Minster Basilica)
Duration: approx. 2,5 - 3 hours
Price: 68,00 €, max. 15 persons

Castles, palaces and ruins - The castle-tour in the city of Bonn

Godesburg

Still today, Bonn’s castles present themselves as army facilities and representative domiciles, even if their glory has suffered in the course of the centuries. Especially famous is the Godesburg, which had been one of the most important forts and residences of Cologne’s archbishops for a very long time. We also visit the castle Dottendorf, the castle Endeniche with its ghost from the 18th century, the castle Graurheindorf, the water-surrounded castle Lede, the castle Dransdorf and the Friesdorf Tower from the 12th century.
