The leisure park Rheinaue, the former area of the Bundesgartenschau 1979 (the Federal Horticultural Show, which took place in 1979), is located in the geographic heart of the city, quite close to the Federal quarter. One will not only find walkers here, but also more and more people chasing through the Rheinauenpark on eight wheels. Advanced inline skaters, who want to let off steam in an artistic way, will find Europe’s biggest “half pipe” here in the Rheinauenpark. The pipe was just covered with a new metal-sheet ground and is in an excellent condition.

This is THE inline skating spectacle in Bonn. More than 2,000 rolling trendy sportsmen commonly manage 10 to 20 kilometres through the centre of Bonn. The extensive accompanying programme makes this event become a real skater festival.
Under the auspices of Bärbel Dieckmann (the Lord Mayoress) and Wolfgang Albers (the Chief Constable), the City of Bonn, the police and Inline Connection GmbH (the organizer) offer attractive tracks through the Federal City of Bonn on a couple of days.
These skating runs – Bonnskating – serve a good purpose. Contributions from the profit activities are for the benefit of organizations of public interest.
