Siegtal Cycle Path

Cycling in the Siegtal valley

Experience the river landscape

The Sieg accompanies you all the way from its source until it flows into the Rhine near Bonn. This provides 154 kilometres through an original river landscape between the Nature Reserve Rothaargebirge, Bergisches Land and Westerwald. Isolated meadow valleys alternate with wooded ridges. Cyclists will discover attractive and diverse countryside on the signposted cycle paths or also on the quiet roads.

The partially re-designed Siegtal cycle path runs for about 60 km from Windeck until the Sieg flows into the Rhine near Bonn.

The cycle path follows a route through the unspoilt region of Sieg, always in sight of the river that snakes majestically through the landscape of meadows. At every bend there are superb photo opportunities and views as well as many places to take a break. Owing to the low inclines, the cycle path is also suitable for recreational cyclists.

Perfectly connected to the ÖPNV local public transport system, the cycle path is a stress-free, family-friendly excursion. Cyclists coming from Cologne with the S-Bahn Route 12 and the regional railway RE9 can easily reach all the places along the way.
