One Day in Bonn

Here we have put together a few tips for you on how to experience Bonn in one day.

The day starts with a visit to one of the many museums in Bonn - such as the Haus der Geschichte, where the history of the Second World War to the present day is presented to visitors with animations (approx. 1-2 hours, free entry).

Another must is a visit to the Federal district of the former capital city. Follow the Path of Democracy to important contemporary sites such as the Villa Hammerschmidt and the former Plenary Chamber of the Federal Parliament (approx. 1-2 hours).

Move on to the city centre, where the many shops and cafés entice you to shop and relax (approx. 1 hour). The historic town hall, the University of Bonn and the Bonn Münster are other places worth seeing, which you should not miss.

Walk in the footsteps of Beethoven: here culture-lovers will be in their element. The Beethoven-Haus invites you to take a trip through the world of the famous composer (approx. 1-2 hours).

Nature-lovers can then take a walk in the Botanical Garden and admire the exotic and native plants - very near Poppelsdorfer Palace.

The ships of the white fleet will take you upstream on the Rhine to the famous wine-making town of Königswinter (approx. 2-4 hours).

Anyone who enjoys hiking, should visit the Drachenfels, the emblem of the Siebengebirge, and enjoy the truly impressive view from the top over the Rhine valley.

At the end of the day you can relax in one of the many beer gardens such as in Alter Zoll, a cosy beer garden with views over the Rhine. People who like to try a real Bonn beer, should end the evening in Brauhaus Bönnsch.
