Chromglänzende Oldtimer, VW-Bulli
und Studenten-Ente: Kein anderes
Massenprodukt strahlt eine Faszination
aus wie das Automobil. Des „Deutschen
liebstes Kind“ steht im Mittelpunkt
der Ausstellung „Geliebt – gebraucht –
gehasst. Die Deutschen und ihre Autos“
vom 10.03.2017 – 21.01.2018. Ausge-
wählte Fahrzeuge wie ein Mercedes
Pullmann 600 und der „Kult-Manta“ aus
dem Film „Manta, Manta“ dazu Objekte,
Medienstationen, Plakate, Fotos und
Dokumente lassen die soziale, kulturel-
le und wirtschaftliche Bedeutung des
Autos in Deutschland lebendig werden.
Neue Ausstellungen sind auch an den
historischen Orten zu sehen: „Unser
Grundgesetz“ informiert im Gebäude
des Bundesrates mit dem Plenarsaal
über die Verfassung der Bundesrepublik
Deutschland und den Föderalismus.
Das Kanzlerarbeitszimmer und der
Kabinettssaal im ehemaligen Bundeskanzleramt sind ab Mitte Januar 2017
für Besuchergruppen zugänglich,
ebenso der denkmalgeschützte Kanzler-
bungalow.
Shiny vintage models, VW vans and
student-2CV: no other mass-produced
items are as fascinating as automobiles.
The Germans “favourite child” is at the
centre of the exhibition “loved – needed
– hated. The Germans and their Cars”
from 10.03.2017 – 21.01.2018. Selected
vehicles such as a Mercedes Pullman 600
and the “Cult-Manta” from the German
film “Manta, Manta” plus objects, media
stations, posters, photos and documents
bring to life the social, cultural and
economic importance of the automobiles
in Germany. New exhibitions can also
be seen at historic locations: “Our Basic
Law” provides information in the buil-
ding of the upper house of the German
parliament (Bundesrat) with the Plenary
Chamber about the constitution of the
Federal Republic of Germany and federa-
lism. The Chancellor’s cellor’s office and
the Cabinet Room in the former Federal
Chancellery will be accessible to groups of
visitors as of the middle of January 2017
together with the Chancellor’s Bungalow,
which is a protected monument.
