Beethoven Jubilee Year 2020

The 250th birthday of the city of Bonn’s most famous son, Ludwig van Beethoven, will be celebrated as the Beethoven jubilee year with a high international profile from 16.12.2019 until 17.12.2020.

The musical guests include major celebrities such as Sir Simon Rattle with the London Symphony Orchestra, the maestro Daniel Barenboim and Teodor Currentis. You can find an overview of the programme for the entire year in the event calendar of the Beethoven Anniversary Company BTHVN2020.

The range of events during the 2020 anniversary offers major musical experiences throughout the year in concerts, exhibitions, operas, film, dance or theatre productions. But Beethoven’s works will also be illuminated from various perspectives in symposia and educational programmes.
