Rund um die Vereinten Nationen hat sich ein
Netzwerk für Nachhaltigkeit gebildet. So kann
die Region mit Bundesministerien, Entwicklungs-
diensten, Wirtschaftsunternehmen, Wissen-
schaftseinrichtungen, Medien und rund 150
international ausgerichteten Nichtregierungs-
organisationen eine hohe inhaltliche Kompetenz
für Umwelt- und Entwicklungsfragen aufweisen.
Bereits im Jahr 2006 wurde das Projekt Sustain-
able Bonn – Konferenzort der Nachhaltigkeit
gegründet. Mit dem Projekt wird durch eine
Verbesserung der nachhaltigen Wirtschaftsweise
ein effektiver Beitrag zur Umweltentlastung
geleistet, soziale Aspekte berücksichtigt und
gleichzeitig wirtschaftlicher Erfolg erzielt. Rund
40 Betriebe aus der Hotellerie, dem Catering-
und Konferenzwesen wurden bisher zertifiziert.
A network for sustainability has been created all
around the United Nations. The region can there-
fore boast of Federal Ministries, development
services, businesses, scientific establishments,
media and approximately 150 internationally
oriented non-governmental organisations with a
high level of competence in environmental and
development issues. The “Sustainable Bonn –
sustainable conference location” project was
already established as long ago as 2006. This
project makes an effective contribution to
reducing the pressure on the environment by
improving sustainable business practices, taking
account of social aspects at the same time as
economic success is achieved. Approximately 40
companies in the hotel trade, catering and con-
ference industry have been certified so far.
